Modern Revival
The homeowners asked us to help them take their modern style to the next level for this renovation and addition project. They wanted an exterior facelift, master suite and outdoor living area addition and a serious kitchen upgrade. Primary colors throughout the house were replaced with bright neutrals for a truly modern and minimal vibe.
The existing front façade was dark and hidden by tall landscaping. We removed an arched stucco front feature and replaced it with an open, metal roof overhang. The stucco was brightened up and painted white. Window trim was replaced with sleek, charcoal metal and landscaping was removed and more structural plants were put in place.
Around back, the pool area received new pavers while the highlight of the backyard is the covered outdoor living area. A modern glass fireplace near the lounge area sits adjacent to a built-in grilling area. Guests can choose to relax or dine in the shade of the covered space while overlooking the pool.
On the other side of the house is the new master suite addition. This new layout allowed for a larger master bathroom, closet and bedroom while providing plenty of extra space for the family’s two Bengal cats to romp and play!
The showstopper is the updated kitchen. Contrasting finishes create interest and depth with a mix of custom glossy, white cabinets and textured, ash gray cabinets. Waterfall island countertops and integrated appliances are additional luxurious touches. Aged brass fixtures and hardware add a touch of warmth throughout and keep the kitchen from looking too sparce. The breakfast nook is clean and contemporary and compliments the kitchen perfectly.
To sum it up, this home has been transformed into a truly modern breath of fresh air while keeping a sense of playfulness with pops of fun color and artwork throughout the spaces.
