Belmont History House: Connecting to the Past
This beautiful home required special consideration because of its historic value and aesthetic. The house already had great bones and just needed some well-planned modern updates to accommodate a busy family. Located right on the main street, curb appeal was key!
CDS created the new layouts while the homeowners had fun selecting all the materials and furniture for the new addition. A new driveway leads you right up to the covered porch with an outdoor seating area and vaulted ceiling. A brick fireplace and ceiling heaters help to ensure year-round lounging is possible in this space.
The kitchen was expanded to allow room for a breakfast room and bar area. The natural light is enhanced with transom windows throughout and a wall of glass doors leading out to the covered porch. The new laundry room and mudroom are thoughtfully located to help keep the family organized!
The elegant master bathroom boasts a freestanding soaking tub, walk-in shower, double-sink vanity, and a large master closet. These timeless additions helped improve the function of daily life while keeping the historic integrity of the house intact.
